The lovely town of Suffolk is mostly known for its agricultural industry and peanut farming. It is actually home of the famous Planter Peanut factory. Though mostly rural, you will find plenty of great shops, quaint boutiques, and restaurants in Downtown Suffolk. In addition, there are many beautiful neighborhoods and suburbs that are consistently expanding.
Somewhere between the 111,000 untouched acres of the Great Dismal Swamp and the 8,000 acres of waterways including the Nansemond River, you’re sure to find yourself in wonder. These spectacular sights provide residents with endless outdoor activities to choose from, including swimming, canoeing, biking, and even skydiving. The Annual Suffolk Peanut Festival was featured in Southern Living and attracts families from all over with four days of exciting concerts, rides, contests, fireworks, and more.
